OBJECTION TO BRACKETING .WITH . . RACING. Exception was token at the N.Z. Coach and Motor Vehicles' Federation Conference yosterday to the bracketing of 6.h0w9 with racing at tho present time, Mr. ,T," Lock (Gore) moved: "That we object to the bracketing of A. and P. shows with horsp racing, as theso shows aro a means of technical education for agriculturists, and have a place in tho industrial life of the Dominion. We hold ■ the side-showß are. not a necessary part "of the functions, and that special railway facilities should be declined them during, the continuation of the wat." ■ - ' J.t was contended by tho. mover that there was considerable difference- in educational values between horse racing and agricultural and pastoral shows. Racing was. , not nearlj'as essential as the shows. . My. ,T. W. Scnrr seconded the motion, which was carried unanimously. Tho-same Bubjcct. from another point of view was embodied in the following motion submitted by Mr. L. Joll (Auckland):—. .
