DARDANELLES REPORT
THE SUPPRESSED MATTER DISCUSSION IN HOUSE OF COMMONS London, March 12. . Mr. Bonar Law announced in the House of Commons that'the evidence taken by tlio Dardanelles Commission, would not bo published. Mr. Bonar Law, in replying to Mr. Asquitb, said the Commissioners did not recommend tho publication of tho evidence because it contained portions dealing with naval and military considerations and the Government's relations with tho Allies. Therefore it could not bo published without detriment to tho public interest. In tho circumstancos, the Government was not prepared to order its publication. A member asked whether it was wise to issuo tho report. Mr. Bonar Law: The Government is bound by the Act creating the ComI mission. j Mr. Winston Churchill: AVlio was rcI sponsible for the excisions ? j Mr. Bonar Law: They were made at tho request of the Foreign Office, tho War Office, and the Admiralty, hut Cabinet finally was responsible. Mr. Pemberton Billing asked if the name of the Minister and ex-Minister appeared in the excisions. Mr. Bonar Law: I cannot answer such a question.—Aus.-N.Z. Cablo Assn.
