MEETING OF CREDITORS

ESTATE OF REEVES AND WILLIAMS. By Tclcgriph.—Press Association. Wnodville, March 3. A meeting of creditors in tbo estate of Reeves and Williams was held today, the- District Official Assignee presiding. Thirty-four creditors attended. The Assignee road a. statement ot the proceeoings of an attempt to unravel the firm's books. Mr. Grant accountant, _of Palmerston North! stated that it was impossible to mako head or tail of them. Many of the books were missing. Tho* Assignee said application was being made to the Railway Department and various firms with a viow to finding out the transactions of bankrupts. Ho hoped from these to write the books afresh. Mr. Gilford Mooro read a statement concerning a visit paid by himself and the Assignee to Goro to investigate Reeves s estate. Tho report said it was wortli whilo Urn creditors taking over tho estate and paving Reeves's creditors 20s. in the £, and taking "the surplus for tho liabilities of tho joint estate. The mooting carried a resolution to that effect, also resolutions approving the Assignee's action so far, and empowering him to continue the ease io tho full extent of the law.
