When iwrestrioted submarining was proclaimed l the Dutch Government protested, and urged l Germany] to take caro that no Dutch vessels on route to and from Dutch ports fall victims. Germany replied she was ready to comply, but that it was impossible to guarantee absolute safety. The sunken vessels availing themselves of the German offer left port together on February 22 ; and all werss torpedoed without their papers being examimied.—Renter.
