HOT MUGGY WEATHER
'A' heat haze, bringing hot, muggy weather, and oppressive conditions, settled ugon Wellington and district yesterday. Electricity was in. the air, and the rumble of thunder on the eastern side of the harbour sounded in the city like distant artillory. A few heavy drops of rain fell in the city, but in the eastern suburbs the downpour, though short, was fairly' heavy, and enlivened with flashes of lightning and the roll of the thunder. The official forecast predicts increasing northerly winds generally, with cloudy and unsettled weather, and probably rain. The barometer is falling everywhere.
