CAPTURE OF THE LIQUORICE FACTORY HEAVY TURKISH CASUALTIES London, February 11, 8.15 p.m. ' 'llio High Commissioner reports:— The. following dispatch has been rc- ■ ccived from Mesopotamia :—"During , the night of Febniary 9 wo repulsed , four Turkish attacks on our right. On , our left our position has been fur- ) thnr improved. On February 10 our > hold of tho enemy's trenches was rap- , idly 1 extended 1 ; by heavy bombardment and assault wo captured 500 yards of tronchos and tho liquorico factory at Kut. To tho right wo steadily progressed. Wo have a now lino of over a frontage of more than 6000 yards, the enemy being pushed back from 800 to 1200 yards.
