Tho "Daily Mail's" correspondent at Petrograd states that tho Russians hold their gains on the Riga front on a lino of seven miles. Tho Germans have concentrated' all their available forces in attempts to dislodge them, and tho heaviness of tho enemy's losses recall the Battle of Verdun. Tho Russians are holding the Babit-Tirul line, and threaten Mitau and the whole of the German left flank. An army order •which was found on prisoners advised them to eat crows, as furnishing an "oxcellent and nutritious food."
Tho "Morning Post-s" Petrograd correspondent states that it is officially estimated that tho enemy's forces on a thousand miles of tho Russian front average one. division for every six milos; on tho French front, one division for every four miles; on tho Salonika front, one division for ovory fourteen miles.
