At the Supreme Court, Daniel Paul Phillips, formerly Clerk of the Court aft Waihi, convicted of stealing .£162, was sentenced to nine months' hard labour. . A sentence of eighteen months' hard laljour was imposed on Cyril George Pegfj for theft from boarders in a hotel: Other isentenccs were:—Hunter Fyke, of Wanganui, three months' hard labour; Hoani Peni, forging and uttering at Whakatane, three years' probation; Turu Wkenua, theft from rt dwelling at Waipiro Bay, three years' probation; Arameta Taropa, theft, forgery, and uttering, ordered to como up for sentence when called upon; Ale.tr. Phillip Neil, forgery and utterin?, two years' reformative treatment; John M'Lelland, theft, nine months' imprisonment; Eda Ellen Grant, forgery and uttering at Morrinsville, probation for' 18 months; Wm. Laurenco Higgins, theft of £2&7 from employer, one year's hard , labour; James Pople, theft at Hamilton, two years' probation. .
