MAGISTRATE'S COURT

*- A short sitting of the Magistrate's Court was held on Saturday morning, Mr. L. G. E«id, S.M.. presiding. For insobriety, Eva Grcll, a prohibited . person, was fined 10s., in default three days' imprisonment. IsiUoro Jacobus, ag«inst whom there were five previous convictions, was fined 405., in default fourteen days' imprisonment. George Edward Johnston, convicted of disorderly behaviour in Manners Street while intoxicated, was fined 205., tho alternative being three days. A remand to Monday was granted in the case of Thomas Albert Houghton, charged with assaulting Antonio George. Bail was allowed in tlie sum of .£lO. Phyllis ]?crraro appeared to answer a charge of loitering in Oouitenay Place for immoral purposes, contrary to the War Regulations, was convicted and sentenced to three months' imprisonment.
