SOLWAY SHOW
Tlie fact that the Solway showgrounds, upon which the Masterton A. and P.. Association's annual show is to lie hold on February 20 and 21, lias a railway siding and splendid holding paddocks, should at once, appeal to exhibitors from a distance. The exhibition of fat and freezing 6heep seen every year at Solway would to hard to beat anywhere in Australasia, and it is anticipated that this year all previous records will be broken. In classes for freezing slieep a number of very valuable special trophies are offered. These include t'he Walker and Hall Cup for the most points in freezing classes, the M'Laren Cup for the best pen of four Down cross lamb's most suitable for freezing and the London market, the New Zealand Shipping Company's 25-guinea cup for the mo6t points in farmers' freezing classes. In the fat sheep classes the Henderson Cup will go to the exhibitor securing most points in the fat sheep classes. In addition to these special prizes the association
will add substantial cash prizes. Farmers aro specially catered for in tlie sheep clns.se.?, and there is also the 30-pjiinea ■Tikitapu- Silver Cup to compete for. Valuable trophies have also been allot' ted in t'ho purebred Romney Marsh, Southdown, and othor sections of stud sheep, as well as in the cattle, horses, and dogs competitions, and the numerous other classes. Lato entries will close with the secretary (llr. J. 13. Einmett, Box 40, llasterton), on February 10, at 0 p.m., on payment of Is. per entry for late fee. The . ram nnd ewe fair l's to be held on February 22 and 23.
