Eipect strong and variable winds, -with east to northeasterlies predominating; barometer nnsteady in the north, but falling further in tho south. Cloudy and snltry conditions havo nontinned generally, but considerable rajn has fallon in tho northorn and East Coast districts of tho North Island.
