56 DEATHS REPORTED

HOSPITAL PATIENTS

The casualty list which was issued yesterday contained the names of 69 men. This number included 44 killed in action, eight died of wounds, three died of sickness, one accidentally drowned, six missing and seven wounded. In the Maori Contingent one man was reported to have died from sickness and one wounded man to have been admitted to hospital. A hospital and progress report was issued also. The names of next-of-kin are given in parentheses, the relationship being denoted by m. for mother, f. for father, sis. for sister, b. for brother, w. for wife.
