REQUISITIONED WOOL

'AE-RANGBMENTS-NOAV: ALMOST COMPLETE. Arrangements for the requisitioning of tie New Zealand, 'wool clip are now almost complete. The; Minister (the Hon. W. D. S. Mao Donald) has come to terms with the brokers as to the charges they are to make for their services iri storing and • lotting the wool, and in doing the work, and also with the buyers as to the terms on which they will undertake the work of valuing the wool. 'There are many details iu connection with both of these tasks which have to be committed to writing, and the Minister ia being- assisted by the interested in the drawing of specifications and i particulars of this sort. Mr. MacDonaJd stated, referring to these matters yesterday, that there were matters of some complexity and difficulty, and that the brokers; and buyers had met him very fairly, regarding their part in the scheme.' Before 'they can-be finally settled, the. rates of charge have to be approved by the Imperial Government, and the Imperial Government will probably signify approval in the course of a day or two. The need for prompt action is urgent,/ because storage space is now rapidly filling. In a very short while the rahiers must get to work, and the Government must be in a position to pay for wool. The proposal is that buyers shall be stationed at different places appointed throughout the country,' to make the valuations as the Wool is collected; and so avoid congestion and delays in shipment. _ .The slipe wool from freezing works is to go Home under its usual brands, and is to be valued "at Home. The only other_ class, of wool left to bo dealt with is scoured wool from the few fellmongers' in this country. This wool is not considerable in quantity.
