HUTT COUNTY COUNCIL

A meeting of the Hutl County Council was held yesterday morning, the chairman (Councillor Welch) presiding. The following woro also present:— Councillors J. Wakeham,. W. Galloway, T. Edwards, J. Whiteman, and'AY. J. Howell. A request br the Lower ITutt Borough Council that the Hutt County Council should erect a lamp at tho foot of Normandalo Hill was refused. As the Public Works Department notified that tho sum of £22 10s. was still available for expenditure on tho Trentham Range road, the clerk was instructed to make application for tho money. A ratepayer complained that wandering sheep were damaging his property, and suggested that tho ranger should be supplied with two "good fierce" dogs. Tholcttcr was received.
