Y.M.C.A. HUTS AT THE FRONT

Mr. Will Crooks, M.P., who has recently visited the front, spoke at a recont meeting of the good work tho Y.M.C.A. is doing. "Why," ho said, "they could no more do without the Y.M.C.A. than they could do without munitions at the front! I have, seen it in operation. It does not only mean that they help to feed the men, hut they give them what money cannot buy —lovo and sympathy. See a man come to the Y.M.C.A. and get in contact with the leader. I visited one crowded with horsokeepers and drivers—not quite a roligious body. If you want to pick them out real, you know tho class —men who handle horses. I saw them in a Y.M.C.A. hut on a Sunday afternoon, and what do you think they were doing? Picking nut Moodv and Sankey hymns to sing! Why, if the subscribers to the Y.M.C.A. never got anything else for their nionev than that, it would be well spent. I met a man once who began pouring out his trouble to me; It was an awful story. He ought to have had twelve years for it, and I said to him, "What do yon want to tell me for?" Ho said, "You don't understand. I have got to live by myself." It was more than he could do to bear it. He had to tell someone about it. A man with a heavy heart can go to the 'Y.M.C.A. hut "ml have a conversation with the lep'W, and come out a bettor man." Have you sent vour contribution to tlw special Hut Fund ? It should be addressed: Y.M.C.A. Hut Fund, "Christian Herald," 6 Tudor Street, London E.C.
