Messrs; Dalgety and Company agents for the •Luckenbach Lino of steamers from New York, is the same Mr. Ebey who is agent- for the interned German steamor Serapis at San Francisco, and if the Government find this to be the case whether they will ask the Australian Government to 'interrogate Mr, Ebey on arrival at Sydney. . . The Prime Minister said that tho Government was being put in a difficult position by questions in tho House on this subject, and a eerious mistake was being made in asking them. The Government was making full inquiries, but the matter presented certain difficulties makinsr it no easy ono to deal with.
