The funeral of another old Wellington identity, the late Mrs. Caroline Anderson, relict of the Lite Henry Anderson, one of the early editors of the "Evening Post," took place on Monday morning. The cortege, which left "Craigmillor," Duncan Terrace, Kilbirnio, for the Sydney Street Cemetery, was a lengthy one.Evidenco of tho respect in which the deceased lady was held was shown by the presence of many of Wellington's leading citizens. Tho hearse bore many beautiful floral tokens. The services at tho house and 'the graveside were conducted by'the Ecv. James Tatterson. The pallbeafers were Messrs. D. S. I'a'pivorth and A...Scott (sons-in-law) and Messrs. .). Harding and R. Ilood.
The following letter has been received by the lion, secretary (Miss Sybil Nathan) of the Women's Committee of the British Iknl Cross and Order of St. John (Wellington Branch) from the- officer in charge of the Wellington Centre: —"Please inform your workers Hint tlio following goods may be made in absolutely unlimited quantities:—l3;ui;!iigps, swabs, bed jackets, bed socks, dressing gowns, old'linen, pyjamas, socks, vcMs." These, it is stated in the memorandum, are now wanted, as at any time heyvy demands for them may be made, and if sent to the N.Z. War Contingent Association in England the surplus, if any; ivill be immediately available.
