SOME AMENDMENTS.

The Hon. J. Allen lias siren notice of several important amendments to the Military Service Bill, to be moved in Committee.

Mew sub-clauses are added providing tliiit so far as practicable the Minister shall givo to every man called up notice by registered letter to his last known address. Failure to do this, "however, does not affect tho validity of his calling up or limit the effect of the Gazette notice, a copy of which is also to he posted at all post offices throughout New Zealand. In the section relating to appeals a proviso is added that where an appeal is planted beeauso the appellant is engaged 111 a particular industry he shall to liable to be called for service subsequently if ho leaves that 'industry.
