APPLE SHOW
Wellington is to experience the r.tvelty of an apple show m the Town Hall next week. Towards that end hundreds of cases from rail parts of the district,. Nelson, and Marlborough arrived yesterday—Jonathans, Delicious, Stunners, Ribston Pippins, Cox's Orange Pippins, Brown Russets—all of the best, prepared to show enthusiast and sceptic that this is. a great applegrowing country for home supply and export. The show is to commence on Tuesday next. The whole of the platform has been securcd by the fruit division of the Agricultural Department, whilst nearly all the big fruit farmers of Nelson and the WoP.ingTon district will exhibit the bounty' of their orchards. Each afternoon tevis to be supplied the visitors by Mrs. Luke and her committee of ladies, the profit to go towards tho Soldiers' Parcel Fund.
