BOXING
WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. -■ Mr. B. A. Blundell presided at the annual general meeting of members of the "Wellington Boxing Association last night., The annual'report (already published), and tho balance-sheet were adopted. In moving the adoption of the report, the chairman pointed out that the year had been a quiet one on account of the conditions prevailing. He referred to the number of boxing exponents who had gone to the front, and explained that as many others were in training or on their way to the firing line tho outlook for tho coming year' was not promising as regards tournaments. All •things considered, however,' the association was' progressing .on satisfactory liueSjfinancially and otherwise.' Officers for the ensuing. year were elected as follow:—Patron, tho Right. Hon. Sir Joseph "Ward. Bart.': president, Mr. R..AV. M'Viily; vice-presi-dents, Dr. H. J. M'Lean, and Messrs. 0; E. Bridge, H. Nelson, J. H. Owen, E. A. Blundell, J. L. Day, John Fuller, junr., L. George; committee of management, Messrs. R.,W. M'Viily (chairman), J. E. Staples, E: A. Dawson, N. Coffey, W. W. Cook,. H. D. Smith: L. H. Fox, W. A. Fordham, Pi Woods, G. Howe; lion, solicitor, Mr. T. M. Wilford, M.P.; representative in Australia, Mr. W. Lawless; hon. auditor, Mr. 11. J. Aekins; hon. treasurer, Mr. B. A. Guise; hon. secretary, Mr. G. G. Talbot.
It was decided to remit, tile subscriptions of all members on active service.
The incoming committee was recommended .to take into consideration the question of the-proposed memorial to J. Hagerty.
