A special service held at the' Synagogue, yesterday was very well attended. The Rev. H. Van Staveren officiated, and his address to tie congregation was -well suited to the occasion. ' Special prayers were offered up for those who had'made the supreme sacrifice, and Psalm xc was rendered.

The Hierarchy of the Boman Catholic Church issued injunction to the Faithful to attend Mass yesterday morning and receive Holy Communion on behalf' cf those who) fell in the landing at Gallipoli. There was a very large response to the injunction, and there were numerous congregations at all the churches, the number of communicants being exceptionally large.

During the afternoon session of the annual conference of delegates from the various Churches of Christ in New Zealand, a memorial service was held in connection with Anzac Day celebrations..
