Wallace and Helen Wallace, £2 10s., costs 18s., and possession of tenement. JUDGMENT SUMMONS. Gotlieb Grumwald, defendant in a judgment summons case, was ordered to pay to Jno. Duthie and Co., Ltd., the sum of £5 95.. before May 4, in default to undergo four, days' imprisonment. DEFENDED ACTION. George Rosewarne, grocer's assistant, proceeded against Mrs. Willjam Lock tor the return of certain goods and chattels or. payment of their value (£3 19s. 6d.). He also claimed £5 damages in respect of the detention of the ?oods. The goods, it appeared, had been returned before the hearing, and th defendant counter-claimed for £6 . ,*. 6d., allegedly due for. board and lodging of plaintiff's relatives and £10 as damages for trespass. Judgment wafc «ven for plaintiff on tli'e claim :?£ ~ an d costs £1 75., and.for plaintiff also oh the counter-claim without costs. Mr. V. B. Willis appeared for Rosewarne, while Mr. J. F. W. Dickson appeared for Mrs. Lock. ' POLICE OASES. .Police cases were taken before Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.M. George Ross, otherwise, known as Charles King, was convicted of drunkenness and of using obscene language. Inspector Hendrcy described the case as one of the worst that liad been before the Court for a long time. There were previous convictions against the accused and the Magistrate, imposed a sentence of two months' imprisonment with' 1 ' hard labour.
Isaac M'Kay pleaded guilty to stealing a soldier's overcoat from a local hotel He was fined 405., with the alternative of seven days' imprisonment. Patrick William Lee, charged with helpless drunkenness, was remanded for a week for medical treatment. For drunkenness, Alexander Gibb was fined 205., with the option of three days' imprisonment.. For a simijfr offence, Andrew Henry M'Natty 'was fined 10s., the alternative in his case being 48 hours' imprisonment. Five-first-offending inebriates ivere also dealt with.
• Henry Amos, who appeared before Mr. Riddell at an afternoon sitting of the Court, was remanded until Wednesday, next on a charged of stealing a bottle of schnapps, valued at 6s. Gd., from tho steamer Putiki. Bail was allowed in the sum of £10, and a surotv of £10. • ■ '
JUVENILE COURT.
. In the' Juvenile' Court on Thursday morning, a boy' about 10 years of age appeared before Mr. D. 6. A. Cooler, S.M., on a charge of using improper language. He was cautioned and discharged.
