Sir,—l see by your valuable, paper of the 19th tho answer to a previous letter signed "Puzzled," giving' both side? to tho story. Now I,.as the writer of same, might state that I was already, aware of tlie facts, but thought it advisable to hear both. .. In fairness to the Defence authorities and Palmerstou North Recruiting Board, I would lika to mention tho following facts:— My statements were quito correct, as received from the member in question, only he made the error, by saying ha had tried the infantry, when in reality ho had not, and only did so on the 6th inst., after learning from me that my correspondence had already gone td' I'he Dominion-.
