FIFTEENTHS STILL 21 SHORT

LATEST RECRUITS

Twenty-ono fit men are required to mako up Wellington's shortage for the Fifteenth Reinforcements. Any man who gets past tlie doctor can go into camp an hour or two after his papers aro put in order. One day last week a recruit presented himseli' at Buckle Street at 12.30 p.m., and within the hour he was on his way to I'rentham Camp. The following four men wero sent into camp cn Thursday afternoon: Patrick Davcney, J. W. Leslie, D. G. Middleton, and W. A. Somerville. Thursday's New Reoruits. Out of eleven reoruits who presented themselves at Buckle Street on Thursday and were declared medically fit, one was for the Tunnelling Corps and one for Home Defence. The remainder wero infantrymen. The names of the latest medically fit recruits are as follow :— Wilson Little, • fellmonger, City (Tunnelling Corps). Walter Ales. Somerville, labourer, City (Infantry). Daniel Thomas Higgins, plumber, City (Infantry). Lachlan Taylor Brown, architect, City (Home Defence). Edward Doherty, labourer, Napier (Infantry). Tom G. Campion, shepherd, Brooklyn (Infantry). Bernard ..Henry Marks, hairdresser, City (Infantry). Joseph Green, hairdresser, City (Infantry). E. William Cox, clerk, City (Infantry). John Gordon Harcourt, accountant, City (Infantry). Sidney Cooper, ploughman, Masterton (Infantry). EIGHTEENTH N.C.O.'s. WELLINGTON MEN SELECTED. ' The following men from No. 5 Group have been selected as n.c.o.s, and will go into camp with the Sixteenth Reinforcements. Infantry—F. 0. Austin, A. Sta'ce, R. Boyd, H. V. Scott, W. J. V. Berrv, T. L. Gallon, W. S. Press. Mounted Rifles—M., W. Prendeville. Artillery—J. W. Crighton. Engineers—E. C. Day. A. E. H. .Rowland, the Public Service Optician and Jeweller, has been appointed spectacle maker to the Wellington Hospital.
