Dalgety and Company, Limited, Palraerston North, report having a very good oiitry of 6heep and cattle at their Palmerston North sale on Thursday, all of which, met with a ready sale at prices as below;— Sheep: Aged ewes, 10s., 12s. 6d., to 143. ,9d.; two-tooth-maiden ewes, 19s. 2d.; fat two-tooth ewes, 225. 6d.; forward ewes, 176. 2d.; two-tooth wethers, 235. fid.; fat oives; 225. 5d., to 255. 3d.; medium lambs, 13s. to 145.; good mixed lambs, to 15s. 9d.; aged Bornnoy rams, to £2 2s. Oattle; Small mixed weaHers, £1 Is.; empty cows, £4 7s. to £5; dairy heifers, to' £5 ,10s.; springing heifers, to £8 10s.
The Now Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., .Ltd., report that at their weekly stock sale, libld at Levin yards on Wednesday, they offered a' small entry of sheep and a good yarding of cattle, to. a good attendance of buyers. Competition was good, and a satisfactory tale resulted. They quote:—Small lambs, ,Bs.; cull owes, lis. Bd.; light fat heifers, £5 19s. to £6 ,14s.;' light fat cows, £6 6s. to £6 17s. 6d,; forward cows, £5 125.; : elore cows, £3; .heifers, r.w.b., £3 7s. to £4 25.; two-year steers, £5 35.; eighteen-month steers, £3 105..t0. £4,155.; springing heifers, £7; bulls, £6 6s. .
The New. Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd.,. report that at their fortnightly sale, held at their Upper.Hutt yards, they submitted a large yarding, of both sheep and cattle, and under spirited competition they practically cleared their yards at prices well above vendors' reserves. ; They quote;— Sound-mouth ewes, 225.. 2d.; /ailing-mouih ewes, 14s. to 17e. 10d.; cull lambs, Es. 3d;; two to two and a 1 half-year steers, low condition, to £7;_yearline steers, to £2. 155., eighteen-month bulls, to £4; springing calving cows; to £5 155.; . empty store cows, £5 Is., £5 75., to £6 75.; vealers, to £1 195.; mixed Winers, 20s. to 30s. Messrs. Abraham . and ■Williams, Ltd., report having conducted a very successful clearing sale on behal! of Mr. P... O'Donnell, at Eketahuna 1 sale yards on Tlrarsray. - The attendance was large, and business at auction animated. Taken as a whole,. the sheep might, hare been in bettor condition, but nevertheless they sold remarkably well, and made full market rates. The cattle were in very' good order, and made prices-higher than that anticipated by i the vendor. Implements and sundries also made satisfactory prices.
