Sir Edward Grey (Foreign Minister) ,- throusrh the American Embassy, in reply to -Austro-Huugarian;;. .protest, ftgainst the forcible: repatriation of-the Austro-Hmigarians fi-om India aboard the P: and 0. steamer-Golconda, and holding Britain responsible for their lives and neaHh, repudiates all responsibility in this connection, and em r phasises the Government's attitude in the matter, in view of the openly announced intention of the Central Powers to resort to a more intense form or submarine warfare, and adds: "Britain does not propose 'to take precautions on behalf of Austro-Hunearians which she does not take on behalf of her own sur>" jects."
