A THOUGHT CAMPAIGN

FOR THE HOUSEHOLDERS OF THK EMPIRE. In the course of his reading at the TheosophicaJ Society last evening of Mr. C. W. Leadbeater's special lecture, "The Great War," Mr. W. S. Short said:— "Every householder in the Empire is invited to gather together the inmate's of his house for a few minutes dairy, for silent concentrated thought directed to the helping of the powers of good, each one throwing all his thought aaid energy on the side- of right, and ■ using his ' will power to strengthen endurance in the hearts of till their task bo accomplished. Whore desired, the silent five or ten

Where desired, the silent five or ten minutes could open with these words .--r----'We ask that the Divine Will shall find in us clean and deep channels through which'lt will deign to flow.' The playing of a few chords or well-known hymn also helps to harmonise those present.

"If the hundreds or thousands .who are unable to be at the front would joiu in a thought campaign, either as 'householders or l&higly, au effective force would he created to reinforce those who are struggling on land, sea, and air, for the triumph of the right and tho upward progress of humanity. "There are many who think there 'is a possibility of bringing this struggle to an end during tho next few months, but that, if thewar does riot end then it may go on till the world is entirely exhausted and the civilisations of Europe die, out. It is on the'balance. The mighty power of thought, if widely used to hring about victory, could turn the scale and greatly shorten the war. Those who use it must be pure in rap. tive, with no hatred in their hearts, or they will do more harm than good.

"All who join should begin the practice forthwith, and publish it to others far and wide. Insert in papers, print and circulate wherever yon may he. There is nothing to sictn or receive, no one to notify, only the practice to be steadfastly kept and tho thought borne constantly in mind."
