NAPIER NOTES
The Hon. Dr. Pomare is due in Napier to-day from Gisboriie.
Mr. G- S. Leader, assistant Napier borough engineer, left yesterday morning on aholiday visit to Wellington, prior to going into camp. His fellow workers presented him with a wristlet watch.
The Napier Borough Council has accepted the tender ol : Messrs. Greenshields and Co. for the supply of engines and other plant for the powerhouse, the price being £12,720. The additional plant is needed to enable the council to carry out tramway extensions and meet the demand for electric light connections. A bale of wool, presented bv Mr. Harry Glazebrook, of Clive, to lie sold in aid of the funds of the Soldiers' Club, realised Is. 7d. per lb.
