At the sitting of the Magistrate's Court to-day, Mr. /Wyvern Wilson, S.M., on behalf of himself and officers of tho Court, said they were sorry to lose Mr. M'Donald personally,'as well as thf) loss of his (Mr. M'Donald's) experience in assisting the business •of the Court. At the same time they felt glad of his appointment to the responsible olfico of a member of ihe Board of Trade, where ho would bo ablo to make use of his undoubted talents on subjects which he had well studied, and of which ho had made a hobby for some years." ;

Mr. Cottrell also spoke on behalf of the Bar, and Mr. M'Donald acknowledged the compliments.
