BIG FIRE IN NAPIER
DAMAGE ESTIMATED AT £25,000. By Telegraph.—Press' Association. . Napier, January 26. A fire to-night destroyed the coal and wood yard and factory of Messrs. Bul\ Bros.j at Port Ahuriri. A fairly stiff north-easterly wind was blowing, and the timber, of whic'h tihere was a very large stock on hand, burned with startling rapidity. The lire started in the boiler-room of the factory, and was first noticed by several tram passengers. The timber yard and factory and a house adjoining were completely destroyed, and two valuable horses, owned by the firm, were burned to death. Other houses adjoining the yard arc in grave danger, and willing workers are engaged salving the furniture. As the fire is still blazing iiorcely, strenuous efforts are being made to save the adjoining premises. The dainago is estimated «? £25,000.
