Tho whole of the capitjl needed for going alicud with tho llominiou Faritiers' Institute proposal lias been subscribed. Mr. A" Leigh Hunt made a successful canvass of the Wairarapa during tho last fortnight, and procured sufficient subscriptions to be ablo to state that all tho necessary money is now available.
The idea is to obtain certain land fronting Foatherston Street, Mngiimity Street, and Ballanco Street, \\ ellington, thereon to erect, a building which will Jiuuso tlio head olfice of the New Zealand Farmers' I'nion, tlic Jiead oflico of the "Farmers' Union Advocate," the head oliice of a Farmers' Qj-opera-tive Federation, wliich lias been in tho course of formation some time, tlm warohouso of the New Zealand Farmers' Co-operativo Distributing Company, the head oifice of the Council of Agriculture, and other acceptable bodies. Also, there will' be conference halls and committee rooms, and offices to let. Further, tlie building will include a Farmers' Private Hotel and a F ar.mers Club. The laud alone js to cost about £15,600. Tho directors will meet in Wellington to-morrow to proceed with the registration of the company and exercise their options over the land. The work of federating ten of the big "co-operative societies of New Zealand is well advanced. Two conferences have been held, and articles of association adopted. If the separate capital of these ten concerns wcro pooled, the total would cxcggu £5,000,000. ' ; ■
