RIFLE-SHOOTING
V LINTON AND SUBURBS
The annual teams' match between tho Linton Rifle Club, Palinerston North, and the Suburbs Rifle Club was fired on the lattcr's range, Broadway, Miramar, yesterday. Tho match commoncefl at 9 o'clock. The weather was not- good ,tho light throughout tho day being bad. The best scores for the day were by: W. Cook (Linton) and H. H. Hunt (Suburbs), oach notching 97. The next best were by F. Necdham (Linton) and J. SSiart, with 95 apiece. The only possible on tho day was by A. C. Bellamore at 500 yds. Rifleman E. Pcrrin, captain of the Linten Club, on behalf of his team, thanked tho Suburbs Club for their assistance in making the visit to Wellington and tho Miramar range such a pleasant trip. He also referred to Hue good feeling oxisting between both teams, and _ hoped it would long remain. President Graham thanked the Linton Club for their visit, and although beaten to-day, lie hoped to have another go at Palmerston next year. Three cheers were given by both teams. , The scores were: —

HIGHLAND RIFLE CLUB. The Highland Rifle Club commenced its first series on Saturday, the distances being 300 and. 500 yards. Tie shooting was good. Rifleman Conibsar obtained the possible at 500 yds.
