The Dunedin Competitions' Society enters dlipon ite fourteenth' session to-day, the judges being Mr. Hector K. • Mac Lean (music) and' Mr. W. L. Paino (elocution). The attendances were not large. The following are the results of the senior competitions:— Essay.—"Merits of Town Planning," J. Lambert (Auckland), .1.; A. Phillips (InvercargillX 2; R.. Day (Dunedin), 3. Drawing. Competition: : Design for Programme Cover.—H, Prouso (Dunedin) and Miss E. M. Thomas (Qhristchnrch), equal, 1. Piano Duct.—Ellen M'Dowo 1 ! and Ivy Hume (Dunedin), 1; Mises W. Naumann and Adonia Aitken (Dunedin). 2; Nellie Varney and Owen Bennett (Dunedin), 3. Instrumental Trio (piano, violin, and flute).—Len Swan, Phil Palmer, and Warwick Braitliwaite, 1 (only competitors). _ Baritone Solo.—J. H. Cocks (Christcliurcli), 1; John Jacobs (South Dunedin), 2; F. M. Perkins (Dunedin), 3. Sacred Solo (amateur), Soprano.—Rebekah Carr (Dunedin); 1. The only competitor. Song (lady), amateurs, without music, and self accompanied.—Alma La Fovre (Palmerston), 1; Meda Paine (Caversham), 2; Carrio Ostin (St. Clair), 3.
