THE LATE DR. BATCHELOR
VERDICT AT THE INQUEST. IJly TelcErapli.—Press Association.! Dunedin, September 15. The inquest on the body, of Dr. Ferdinand Batchelor was concluded this afternoon. Senior Sergeant Dart, representing the police, mentioned two letters found, on deceased, one written on August IG, and the oiJher a hastily-written letter, the date of which was not known, but it must have been written some time after the 24th, because it was on the back of a letter bearing that date.' They were letters of a man who was very ill, and recognised that he was broken down physically, Vhose spirits suffered a good deal in consequence, and that his end was impending. In one of them he said good-bye to his family and. friends. Evidently he felt broken down and also felt the fact that owing to ill-health ho had been sent back from Egypt and had to give up active life. _ The medical evidence showed that death was due to heart failure and a verdict was returned accordingly.
