PREVENTION OF CRUELTY
WELLINGTON SOCIETY MEETS. The fortnightlj; meeting of tlio committee of tlie Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals was held last night. Mr. Wiu. AVatson presided. _ It was decided to take Court proceedings in; respect to a case of cruelty to a Persian cat, which tho society's inspector reported to have taken place at Petone recently. Captain Henry submitted his usual report embodying cases of cmelty which ho had discovered and remedied during the. fortnight. Subscriptions were received and acknowledged as follow for tlie' past fortnight:—N.Z. 'Warehousemen's Association, £2 25.; Harrington's N.Z. Ltd., £1 Is.; A.
