RUGBY
THIS 'AFTERNOON'S MATCHES. Tlio first round of the senior championship ends with to-day's fixtures, and while the position of some of the leading teams may he altered as a result of to-day's games, it appears almost certain that Athletic will commence tho second round unbeaten. What should provide two good contests are set down at Athletic Parle, where Sclwyn meet Poneko and Petone meet Oriental. For years lioiv the latter gamo has provided soma of the brightest football of tho season, and although tho mutch is relegated to No. 2 ground the contest will probably attract equal attention with tho game on the first ground. Solwyn did Jiot play up to expectations against Athletic, scemiii" to bo put off by tho heavy going. Their supporters expect much better things from thorn against Poneke if the ground is in good condition. Tho games in .the lower grades are as originally published, except that St. Patrick's College B takes the plnco of Oriental in tho Sixth Class. '
