PATRIOTIC BAND CONTEST,
Sir,—With yolir "Kind permission, and the use of some of your valuable spaco, I n<ould in the first place emphatically deny that the Tramways Band at any time protested in'connection with the results-of the above contest. As a' matter of fact, the Tramway Band were not the first to know that any mistake had been made, and in fairness to our ask you to make this public, as you have published in your issue of the 27th instant that a protest was entered by us.—l am, efc., : ' A, J.
