■■' : —* — . A special meeting of the New Zealand Allianco Executive was held- last evening, the Rev. W. J. Com'rio heing in the chair. Great pleasure was expressed that "the Anglican Diocesan Synod had heartily and unanimously resolved . to commcnd and forward tlie K.K. throughout- the parishes. It was also .resolved.to congratulate tlio Victorian Alliance' and tlio peoplo of that State on securing tho curtailment of tho hours in which liquor may be sold to 9 ia tho morning and 9.30 in the evening. It was agreed to enter an emphatic protest to.the Minister of Justice against the aotion of the Grey. Licensing Committee in granting two licenses in direct contravention of the spirit and intention of the Act against which the presiding Magistrate had deemed it necessary to protest.
