WAR STOCK FOR WORKMEN , London, July S. It is officially announced that the Treasury is issuing rules -under the War Loan Act enabling trustees to exchange eld Government securities for new loan scrip, subject to the same trust charges. Numerous public companies, including the railways, are ■ purchasing- considerable, war stock on behalf of their employees, re-covcring the amounts by iong-period instalments. RAILWAY UNION'S INVESTMENT. London, July 8.. The National Union of Railwaymen has applied for £106)000 ■of the <'war loan. AN APPEAL' TO THE WORKERS. ("Times" and Sydney "Sun" Services.) (Roc. The employers throughout the country having more than five hands in their employ are receiving letters-this'week signed' by Mr. Asquith, Mr. Bonar Law, and Mr. Henderson. Successful efforts were made in Paris to induce the people to exchange gold savings for bank notes. £400,000 was received- in two hours.
