ADVANCE IN SUGAR
PRICE RAISED £1 PER TON. 'By Telegraph.-.-I'rcs? Assoeintlon ' Auckland, June 30. The Colonial Sugar Company announced to-night that as from to-morrow tlio price of all grades of refined sugar will be advanced £1 per ton, making it £21 por ton. When war broke out the price of sugar was £15 2s. 6d.' per' ton, and on five occasions between then ana December 22 advances, of £1 por ton were announced. On January 25 the company made an agreement with the Government that further increases would not be made, and the term of that agreement expired to-day.
