, ANNUAL MEETING. Mr. 0. M. Luke (vice-president) presided at the annual meeting of the Newtown Bowling Club, held in the club's pavilion last evening. The annual Teport (of which a precis has already appeared) was passed after a brief discussion, and a few questions were answered satisfactorily. The election of.officers resulted as follows: —President, Mr. C, M. Luke; vice-president, Mr. George Prince; secretary, Mr. S. J. Underwood; treasurer, Mr.' J. W. Salmon; directors, Messrs. H. Ransom, C. Pankhurst, G. Scott, F. J. Caterer, and George Noble; auditors, Messrs.' H," Fieldhouse and Walter M'Lay; delegates to the Wellington . Bowling .Centres, Messrs. G. Prince, S. Underwood, and H. Ransom. The question of providing green accommodation consequent upon the change in the day of the week on which a section of the community observo the half l holiday was discussed at sonie length. One me'iibor . suggested that two games could very easily bo played on a Saturday afternoon in the summertime if the players did nob adjourn for half an hour for refreshment. If an early start were made two batches of players could by that means be accommodated. Mr. George Prince said that there were only eight regular Wednes-. day afternoon players in the club. He' usually played on every fine day in the week, and would be willing to give up playing on a Saturday to accommodate others. Finally it was left to the directors to note tho position, and if any difficulty did occuf to make a recommendation to the members on the matter. New by-laws wero discussed at length up till a late hour.
