HELD UP BY THE BRITISH NAVY. GERMAN GOODS FOR EXPORT TO AMERICA. (Rec. June 30, 7 p.m.)' London, June 29. A report from New York states that Mr. Robert Lansing (Secretary of State) received a deputation of importers (mostly from German-American firms) who complained that ten million sterling worth of American goods were lying at Rotterdam owing to the refusal of tho British Navy to permit them to be exported to America. They declared that .the goods were not contraband, and petitioned the State Department to insist that Britain should no longer interfere with their rights as Americans to carry on legitimate trade with Germany through neutrals. , , Mr. Lansing said that lie hoped that it would bo possible to remedy the evils.
