LONDON SHEEPSKINS SALES. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, Wellington, have received the following cablegram from their London office, under date June 25:—The sales closed with merino oombinßs 3d. per lb. doaror, and clothing higher by id. to Id. Shorn merriios were neglected. Crossbreds were id. to Id. per lb. dearer, but shorn were generally neglectd. Lambs advaucd Id. per lb.; 8670 bales were catalogued, and of this quantity about ICOO bales were not sold.
HIGH COMMISSIONER'S CABLED MAKKET HEPOKT. The Department of Agriculture, Industries, and Commerce has received the following cablegram from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, dated London, June 26. (Note—Quotations, unless otherwise specified, are average market pr'ce6 on spot):— Mutton.—There is a poorer demand for frozen- mutton, partly owing to largo supply of hoinc-killed, on account of the dry weather, but there is no change In prices. Canterbury, 7id. per lb. for lightweight; North Island, 7Jd. for lightweight; ewes, 6|d. Lamb—The market is quiet, and the domand is chiefly for light-weight, even of ordinary duality. Canterbury, 8 3-Bd. per lb. for light-weight; lieavy-wcights, fours, Bid.; other than Canterbury, 8 3-Bd. for best quality light-weight. Beef—Prime New Zealand beef is not quoted as the quantity available is too small. New Zealand cow sides are selling at 7d. per !b. Chilled hinds, 9 3-Bd. per lb.; fores, Bd. Butter.—The market Tcmains firm. Daniel'. -quiet, per cwt., 150 p. to l5Zs„ and up to 1545.; New Zealand offerings are email, 1425. to 144 a., and up to 1466.; Australian, in good demand, small stock, 138s. to t4os. ( and exceptionally, 1425.; Siberian, in good demand, 128s. to 1325.; Irish oreameries, steady demand, 140s. to 1425., aad up to 1.445.; Argentine, 1366. Cheese—The market is steady, with an improved demand. Canadian, quiet, white, per cwt., 9Zs. to 935., and up to 945.; coloured, 90s. to 925.; New Zealand, market quiet but steady, 945. to 965.; coloured, 925. to 945.; United States, quiet, 86s. to 9Zs„ according to quality and size. Hemp.—Thho market i 6 quiet but steady. N.Z., good fair grade, per ton, £32 10s,; fair. £30 10s.; fair current Manila, £3!) 10s.; forward shipment:—N.Z. good fair, £3 15:.; fair, £29 10s.: Manila, £38. The output from Manila for the week was 17,000 bales. Hops.—The market is firm. It is reported that the fly is attacking plantations. English, per cwt., 90s. to 1155.; Caltfornian. 75a. to 105s.
