CONCERT AT THE HUTT,
The Hutt Bowling and Tennis Club held their fifth annual concert in the King George Theatre last evening, and the affair was a great success. The proceeds of the concert are to be devoted to helping Miss A. M. Senior, the Hutt Valley candidate, in the Queen of the Carnival contest. The entertainment was given under the direction of Mr. E. J. Hill, and the large_ audience showed its appreciation by liberally applauding tho various performers. Miss Agnes Segrief sang "Soul of Mine"; Nurse Te Au (Otaki) was heard in two Maori ■songs; Miss Mina Caldow sang "Three Fishers" and "Ave Maria" (with harp, violin, piano, and organ" accompaniment), and also recited Kipling's "AbsentMinded Beggar " "The Curate and the Maid" and "Mother's Maxim" were sung by Miss AV. Lonsdale. Mr. E. J. Hill sang that new patriotic song, "Tho Gunner"; two violin solos were contributed by Mr. E. B. Gilchrist, and Signor G. Vitetta was responsible for a very pleasing harp solo. Mr. J. M. Clark recited "Jim Blair's Story" (Mark Twain), "The Long Avenue," and "Tho Two Grenadiers."
No matter how stubborn a cold may be, "NAZOL" will put it to flight. A few whiffs from a Nazol Inhaler gives a noticeable relief.—Advt. A meeting of creditors in tho bankrupt estate of David Cronibie, bootmakor, will bo held at the office of tho Official Assignee on Juno 24 at 11 a.m. Something of interest to the man that intends to make a home in tho Hawke's Bay district is advertised in Mr. J. A. Miller's change of adverisement on page 15 of this issue.
