FIRES
DOCTOR'S RESIDENCE DESTROYED (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Cisborne, Juno 3. A fire this evening destroyed the large 10-roomed residence of Dr. Portor, in Childers' Road. No cause is assigned for the fire. Tho house was completely gutted. The insurances are £700 on the furniture in the Royal office. The houso was owned by Mrs. Winter J. Hamon, who is insured for £1200 in tho Atlas office. FIRE IN A SCHOOLROOM. Auckland, June 3. Owing to tar being used for asphalting catching fire tho schoolroom at St. David's Presbyterian Church was damaged to tho extent of about £400.
