♦ RUGBY WANGANUI DEFEATS TARANAKI. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Wanganui, June 3. The Wanganui-Taraiiaki representative Rugby match was played to-day in ideal weather and before a good attendance. Wanganui won at tho last ininuto by 0 points to S. The local backs wore tho first to get going, bub a. rush led by Kissick carried play to the' home twenty-live, where Coleman had a. shot at goal from a mark, but failed. Wanganui retaliated with a passing run. Clark was tho last to receive the ball, and ho was tackled on tho line, but Norrie, coming np fast, dropped on tho ball and scored. Wanganui, 3; Taranaki, 0. On resuming, tho gamo was marked by give-and-take play, tho Taranaki forwards having the best of it in the loose rushes. Wangamii were awarded several penalties in the Taranaki half, but the goal-kicking efforts were poor. The visitors worked play to the homo twenty-five, where the local side were penalised.
