THE NURSES' CONTINGENT.
The Defence Authorities have not yet como to a definite decision as to what steamer shall be fitted lip as a hospital ship, hut it is probable thai the steamer chosen will be one of the larger vessels of tho Union Company's licet. It is understood that the vessel in view is the Malieno. No list is yet available of the nurses who are to sail with tho Sydney boat on Friday, [t is not even certain yet that 25 will go. The number may be one or (.wo less than thai, but it is more probable that more, say 30 nurses, will go. Of the 100 nurses to be dispatched 50 are to go to Egypt and 50 to Malta. All nurses who are anxious to go are advised to join the New Zealand Army Nursing Servire, the strength of which is being inrreased from 1.10 to 210.
