GREYTOWN AUTUMN SHOW
Our Greytov/n correspondent writes that the Autumn Show of the GTeytown Horticultural Society was held yesterday. Tlie exhibits in pot plants were peer. Flowers were very_ scarce and the decorations were not like those of past shows. In the vegetables the specimens were good. The school exhibits and fancy work was as usual good. The guessing competition for the sheep was won by 0. Ferguson and J. Goodhall. Tlie animal was put up for Dutch auction and brought 28s. It was given in aid of the Allies' Relief Fund, and was won by Mrs. T. Walsh and L. Bicknell. Again it was put up for auction on account of the fund and brought £3 '4s. Mr. F. S. Hayes gave three boxes of apples, and Mr. Anker one box. These were sold in aid of the Relief Fund. Mr. F. Morris also gave all his vegetable exhibits. The results of the decorated tables, judged by popular vote, were as follow: —Mrs. Trotman, 74 votes, 1; Mrs. A. B.' Balfour, 61 votes, 2. Over £11 was taken at the door.
