SEVEN-A-SIDE TOURNAMENT. As a preliminary to tho opening of the season, tho annual soven-a-side tournament is announced to take place at tho Athletic l'ark this afternoon, when some twenty-four teams will meet for tho fifth-class and senior championship. In past seasons these games have been followed with very keen interest, as providing a, pretty good indication of the relativo strength of the various clubs, and providing football of a faster nature, which appeals to many patrons of the game. All the clubs have strong teams in for to-day, and visitors to the Park can rely on some good sport. The proccedu are being devoted to the fund for injured players. The senior championship games open on May 8. On May 1 a representative match against the Trentham. Camp is being promoted in connection with the carnival arranged by tho Boxing Association, Natives' Associaticu and Rugby Union. Messrs. Lunskey, Kember, and Griffiths have been deputed to select the Wellington team. The Camp team is reputed to contain a large number of New Zealand representative flayers, and a good team will be required if Wellington is to sccuro the victory.
