SURPRISE FOR WAIKAKA

RAILWAY STATION DISMANTLED

(By Telegjaph.—Press Association.) Core, April 23. ■Residents of 'Waikaka, fourteen miles from Gore, were surprised, yesterday morning when a gang of men commenced to' dismantle the railway station there. No explanation was given by the workers, who were at the work two hours before the telegraph office opened. An indignation meeting was held and a telegram of protest forwarded to the member for the district, who is now in touch , with the Minister of Railways. The Hon. W. Fraser, in a telegram, said he • was greatly surprised to learn what had taken place.
